A Graffiti Mural in Portland, Maine

A graffiti-inspired mural in Portland, Maine. It says, "PORTLAND."

A few things about this tourist picture. The light house is a spray paint can. Or the spray paint can is a light house. I never noticed that ambiguity until revisiting the image for Pictures Captions. How clever and playful. Even approaching the borderline of cute.

When I shot it, and up until a minute ago, I had no idea that it was one of the last pictures to be taken of this mural. The Asylum night club on which it was painted was torn down less than a week later. I took the photo on August 2, 2016. The wall came down August 8, 2016.
